Home Made Star Wars Costumes
Fall 1999 Communiversity
presentation on Star Wars Costumes
The Communiversity Costume Class was held on
Tuesday, September 21 1999.
The Communiversity set us up in the Kansas City Public Library's conference room. A
few minutes before the class started a Star Wars fan with a heart of gold brought some
very valuable SW memoribilia and GAVE IT AWAY ! ! This fan
exemplifies the spirit of true appreciation for the movie and the joy that it has brought
to so many people. Some examples of what he brought were: a beautiful Hildebrandt
poster from 1977, the Star Wars soundtrack on LP (beautiful shape) and a rare book - the
Star Wars Album.
We watched my 40 minute video that features an
overview on building several of the costumes and additional information on molding and
casting techniques.
I brought several different examples of props, costume pieces and reference books.
Naturally, we had a great time sharing Star Wars costume experiences after the organized
presentation.
Thanks to everyone that attended the class. Stay in touch!
